I was a little hesitant to turn off TimeMachine for using “Backup Scheduler for TimeMachine. Then I learned a bit more about TimeMachine and the tmutil utility it uses. Looked at the man pages (Terminal: man tmutil’) which provided incite into tmutil listbackups’ which lists all the backups recently done. listbackups displays all those tedious one hour backups, then when this Scheduler was started it showed my backups every six hours, as I selected (after idle for at least five minutes.)
